Can’t wipe the grin off my dial !

Well it happened!!!  We did it......
We reached, and even surpassed our goal of 500 finishes for the year.....BEFORE the end of the year!!!!
WOOHOOOOOOO!!!!
*insert happy dance here*

We’re  so proud of you gals......you did it.
We had 75 finishes last month
which took us to a total of 518 finishes by the end of November!!!  With still a month to go!!!!!
Now I must remember to contain my excitement and give my apologies for a very late block posting to our November finishers.....Christmas goodies and magazine contributions took up more space in life than I’d planned (along with the general run-of-the-mill stuff!)
But here is October's block for those of you who had finishes.....

and I’ve finished December’s block and that will be posted with the finishing directions for the BOM quilt at the end of the month….I’m working on piecing it together now.

So girls, look out in your inbox for the November block…I’ll be sending them out this afternoon. 

Let’s see how many we can get done for December……perhaps a 600 finish????  (We’re cheeky aren’t we???)

Finishes for August and September are astounding!!!! Yippeee!!!

Again, you girls never cease to amaze us! 

I’ve spent the last hour or so trying to update the sidebar to alert you to the fact of how close we are to our goal but no matter what I try, it just won’t work…..is anyone else having issues with Blogger today???  (probably just me because I’m soooo excited!!! LOL)

Well, seeing as it won’t let me tell you in the sidebar….I’ll tell you here…..

Our goal is 500….we all know that!

With August’s tally of 43 finishes

and September’s tally of 36 finishes,

that takes us to a grand total of

413 finishes to date (30/09/13)

which only leaves 87 to reach our goal of 500

and with only 3 months to go,

that equates to 29 finishes per month!

Well done ladies….we’re very proud and honoured to be amongst you….you are sooooo inspiring…..!!!!

I’m off to send out the SIF blocks to all our grand finishers and then off to do some catch up…..Anyone want to come and help attack my UFO pile?????!!

June BOM delivery…

Thanks for your patience Ladies!!!!   It has been a week and a half squeezed into the last few days so my apologies!!!!  But the June block has now been emailed out to our finishers….I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed designing it for you...

.......Just a sidenote…..if you didn’t receive it and you think you should have as you posted a UFO  finish last month, just drop me a line…don’t be shy…it’s late as I’m doing this and the brain gets a bit fuzzy!!!! LOL

We had 24 finishes this past month....not as many as usual, but I figure it was end of the financial year here in Australia so lots of people were focusing on the more boring task of getting their financial paperwork in order for the taxman! :/

Still.......it means we have 302 finishes so far this year and only 198 left to reach our goal......in other words, 33 finishes a month! 

We WILL get there, I'm confident (and I guess it would help if I actually had some of mine finished wouldn't it????) LOL

Blocks have been sent

OK, our free Block of the Month blocks have been sent out to our lucky finishers for May….check your inbox if you had a finish in May and let me know if it didn’t arrive and I’ll check into it!

We had thirty-eight finishes this past month…..not the top score, but a great score nonetheless so well done to all who managed a finish in May.

If you check in our sidebar, you’ll see this takes our total to  278 finishes which leaves 222 to reach our goal of 500 by the end of the year!!!…..well on track if we do 37 per month for the rest of 2013……can we do it????

YES WE CAN!!!!!

I did notice however, it was a bit trickier to tally this month as I wasn’t sure whether all our finishers were UFOs or new finishes……

Just a couple of notes…….

1. Sew It’s Finished is a blog for finishing off UFOs from previous year(s)…..doesn’t matter how old they are, but they need to be from 2012 or before
2. Soooo, if you blog about a finish, could you please note how old it is (if any of yours are like mine, they could have been around when the dinosaurs roamed, so a roundabout figure will do!!!)
3. We don’t mind looking at new finishes, in fact it’s very inspiring,  but  please just make a quickie post and direct us to your blogs to read more about them…that way we can focus on congratulating getting those cobwebbed projects out and in the open and we’ll direct readers to your personal blogs as well!
4. Please also remember to add labels to your post as to what number finish it is,  how many you’ve done so far and your name  and any other relevant information such as type of project, whether it’s a bag, or table runner or a designer name , for example.  If you don’t know how to do this, when you write your post you’ll see the  labels (circled) on the sidebar…..you can write your own in the box or add ones from the arrowed list by clicking on them.    Then click on the ‘done’ box at the bottom and that’s it….they’ll be added to your post.

So let’s see how many we can kick over for June……30 days……can we make 60 finishes??????   We’ve done it before……let’s …….

February Finishes…WOW !

Congratulations Ladies,

Month 2 has passed and we have already managed to rack up almost a third of the total finishes we had in 2012....what can I say.....not only are you inspirational.....

YOU ARE AMAZING!!!!!

Forty-eight, yes 4-8 finishes for February....how good is that?

That takes us to a total of 123 finishes for the first two months of the year....our goal of 500???? ppppfffft....we'll have reached that in six months!!!

I can only imagine what number of finishes we'll achieve this year....

anyone want to has-it-a-guess????

Finale for 2012

Hi ladies,

well...congratulations on getting to the new year with some of you having at least one finish for December! Your efforts took us to 392 finishes for the year...not quite our 500 as we'd hoped for but.....it was only our second year and we were reaching for the moon......

You know what they say.....Always reach for the moon, cause even if you miss, you land among the stars!! and you're all stars to us!

If you never achieved your goal of finishing all your UFO’s….never mind!!!!   There’s always this year so leave us a comment  if you want to keep with us….you’ll notice we’ve wiped most everybody off this list…..so we could start afresh…….and that would mean you  would not have  managed to get all the blocks for the block of the month….but don’t stress....we have a surprise which we'll reveal to you soon....so just be patient.......they will be available for you in 2013…just in a different way (and it won’t cost you a cent!).

March finishes!!!

We had another great month this month with 46 finishes for the month of March….. congratulations to everyone……it’s such a buzz seeing all of your work and imagining how your piles of ufo’s must be shrinking (only wish my waistline would do the same!!!! LOL)
That takes our total up to 166 finishes for the year to date…we’re going to blow last year’s finishes out of the water the way we’re going!What a fantastic effort!!!! 
In fact, if we keep on going, we’ll EASILY surpass 500 finishes for the year…now that’s an achievement to be proud of….and it’s only because of all the encouragement you girl’s give each other!

…always a reward at the end of the rainbow, so they say, and I’m not one to argue….and you don’t even have to be Irish!

EXTRA, EXTRA…..!!!!

Hi girls……

just to let you know, for those of you that had a finish last month and received your free block pattern, there was a slight error in it.  Poor Miss Dawn was tearing her hair out running around hell- west and crooked trying to organise herself for her quilty trip/retreat  to Tassie and, after sending the pattern to you all, we discovered the sizing of the designs on the pattern sheets was wrong.    Nobody has emailed yet so I’m guessing no one has tried doing it yet  (which is a good thing….get onto those ufos !!! LOL)

If you did receive your free pattern, just email me and I will forward you the correct pattern sheet for you to add to the design.

Now I know a few of you are panicking that you are not able to finish your ufo’s in time each month….. and with 56 of us not finishing any of our ufo’s yet this year…..

I thought a couple of organisational hints might help…….

I love Cath’s idea of allocating 12 months to do 12 finishes at most….anything else is a bonus!   So……don’t expect to get ALL of your ufo’s done in one year….. as my boss used to say,

“You can’t eat an elephant in one bite!”

I like to break this idea down even further……. I created a sort of year overview planner  on an A3 sheet and jotted in things in each month that would take my time like birthdays, weddings, births,  (where I'd have to make things) or times I'm away (perhaps on holiday), and then fitted in ufo's to suit the space I had available......helped sort things out in my head a little better when I'd juggled it around on paper a bit first.    It’s not foolproof as there’s always things that crop up unexpectedly (like sickness and flu), but with a disorganised brain like mine, it helps!

Block 2 “Seasons of…..”

February’s finishers will have already received their gift of the second block of “Seasons of…” 

Last month was Dawn’s month to design, so I spent the afternoon in front of the telly stitching it up.

It’s a gorgeous little design, don’t you think?  Full of flowers and hearts….very Valentine-ish..….she’s such a talented gal! 

Next month it’s back to my turn to design and I have a little St Paddy’s magic in mind!  Have to wait and see!!!

Keep up the fantastic effort on the finishes……58 for February which was sensational, seeing it was a shorter month (even though it had an extra day!!!)

Now, if only I could keep up with you all!!!!!
