For Book Lovers

I believe this is my first finish for March. If that is right
"WHAT HAVE I BEEN DOING"
Apparently not sewing.
Anyway here it is

I am taking part in a blog hop using the Moda line of Nancy Drew. I purchased a charm pack and ended up making a book cover for one of Nancy Drew books.
I guess this is my 7th finish project for the year

Pretty & Easy Finishes...

Wow, this blog is really overflowing with so many posts of gorgeous finishes! I am very inspired to keep digging into my KARTS box...
Last week, I finished this spotty table topper & a mug rug. They have both been sitting unloved & unfinished, so I am glad to get them out of my way!

Penny Rug done .....

This UFO is from a BOM shared by  Melody  last year..... It is her Home Sweet Home Penny Rug and I have finally finished off the last touches having spent the last couple of days frantically sewing it ....

I chose to back the rug with a large piece of felt
(well shrunken woollen blanket)
and used some well loved kitchen utensils to trace my circles

... all done...

We have rather a boring storage box (grandiechildren toys) in the lounge room

.... perfect .....

I used a lovely old linen tablecloth for the main piece and the felt is all old woollen blankets which have been felted ...  some I even found in the 'dog blankets' section....

This was a UFO from last year... glad to get it done... now that means I get to start a new project.....

Righto, Gotto Go... tracing to do....

A stitch in time

This is a finish but not a UFO.
Last weekend I was fortunate to meet both of our lovely Sew its finished host ladies Wendy and Dawn at “lets get stitched Adelaide” quilting retreat.

One of the projects that I started this weekend was this pretty Project bag, designed by the lovely Fee
(who I also got to meet) The pattern was in our goodie bag along with many others ( we were so spoilt).

After coming down to earth and relaxing at home on the Monday Adelaide cup long weekend holiday I managed to complete the project and wanted the ladies to see it and to share it with you all.

When 1 = 12......

Last year Wendy and Dawn at Sew It's Finished gave us lovely little stitchery blocks to make when we finished a UFO each month.... I was such a good girl and finished at least one UFO a month so I got all the blocks.....

... but I decided not to finish it as 1 quilt... but 12 little ones!!!!  like for mug rug quilts!!!

.. and there we have it.... 12 little mini mug rug quilts....

Thanks Dawn and Wendy... these were so cute ... so many people have said how they love the little designs

Righto, Gotto Go....

And another one of the BoMs

My 5th completed block - February :-) When I get around to putting a post on to my blog, these blocks will also go towards my Birthday Love Stash. Hopefully I get all done and turned into a quilt before the end of June!

sampler blocks are now a quilt

Most of these blocks were made in a class I went to throughout 2006, where we were given one pattern a month, plus the fabrics.  If we made up the block and took it back the next month we were given the next block makings free, otherwise we had to pay $5 for it.  I have added a few extra blocks  to make this quilt.

It has ended up big enough for using on a queen sized bed.  I didnt expect it to be so big when I started.  I did it as a quilt as you go.
(the prairie points are on the quilt underneath, they certainly are not the right colour for the top quilt).

This quilt is heading off to Chookyblue for the Caring with Quilts collection.
