Pincushion....

All this UFO needed was stuffing and sewing up the hole.... it took less than 10 minutes to do but has been sitting waiting for months to finish....

This blog really motivates me to look in my cupboard and find these little things and get them done... thanks Wendy for keeping us going... and thanks to all of you for the encouragement...

It's quite a big fat pincushion .....

Righto, Gotto Go.. there is a few more UFO's hanging around to be done....

February Finishes-Part 2

Hello there again.  I am sharing the finishes I have for the latter part of this month.  The first is another quilt that has been in the works for a couple of years.  I thought I would turn it into something special for my daughter, but she has decided she wants a different quilt that I just started, so this one is going in the trunk for later.

I also made a coordinating pillow for a blog hop that measures 10" X 10" and was made with paper-piecing.

February Finishes- Part 1

I have gotten behind sharing my finishes with this group.  The first one for February is one of those projects that I have been working on for a couple of years.  Its a lap Quilt called Time Warp that measures 50" X 55" and made with 30's reproduction fabrics.

The next two are table mats made for two different members of a birthday club I am a apart of this year.  They each measure 11.75" X 11.75" and are intended to reflect each of the persons.

I have a few more projects that I hope to complete by the end of the month.

My oldest UFO done!

Yep, this was started as an online Row by Row swap in 1999! We all chose a block to do and make enough for a row. We then made our own row, passed the row and fabric on to the next person. Well, the person ahead of me was doing awesome blocks! So much so, that by the time she got close to the end, she dropped out! I was bummed. I asked her if I could send her fabric and if she would do my row when she felt back up to it. She agreed.

Well, I took a poll last week at a quilt retreat and we all agreed that 15 years was long enough to wait! LOL. I put this together with what rows I had. The back is all the leftover pieces. I got it quilted and bound tonight and is now ready for maybe a little girl who needs some hugs.

The tulip fabric was my inspiration, but I didn't have enough for a border. I thought I did. It's probably in a very, very safe place!

I have a finish!!!!

Hi everyone!  wow, what a roller coaster my family and I have been on.  I swear no more emergency room visits for a long time please!  all is good now.

Anyway, I have not been able to sew since January 1.  that is way too long.  so this first finish feels very good, very small, but good!  LOL...

This little mini wall hanging is 12 x 14.  I used about 7/8 of a yard.  it is about 5 - 6 years old.  I just needed to quilt it and bind it.

I am giving it to my DIL.  She is a gardener big time.  She cans everything.  she has the kiddos out there with her.  not much gardening going on right now since they live in ID.  kind of cold and snowy.  But I know she is planning her garden now...

I should be posting another finish in a day or two.  working on the binding on a tablerunner....

hugs everyone!

3 rag quilts done!

These are the easiest darn quilts to make AND the warmest, so why did I wait 1,5 and 10 years to finish them? Probably because I have made about 25.. And my entire family has their own rag quilt.

I just needed a fire under my butt...or a reason to make them...with a deadline! My quilt group is making rag quilts for a boys home and we told them what date we would give them the quilts. Nothing like a little incentive! I actually have 3 more weeks, but I am making 3 more so thought I better get crackin'. But I had to buy flannel for those.

It's a great time to make these..during our deep freeze. It was -17 Tuesday AM BEFORE the wind chill was factored in, it was -35 with the wind chill. Perfect time to be under a warm quilt, snipping seams. I do have to wash them yet, but will wait til I get them all done.
