Mug Rug band wagon

I did this coffee cup stitchery a few years ago

After admiring everyones Mug Rugs
I knew a mug rug was a perfect idea for this stitchery

Lots of quilting and finally finished

MY NEW BED QUILT AND A GIFT FOR MY SON-IN-LAW

I cant believe how many UFOs I am completeing plus all of my other sewing commitments.
Here are two more to share with you

I started this replica of a postage stamp quilt about 3 years ago and recently found it in the cupboard and decided it deserved to be completed. It is constructed using assorted scraps cut into 21/2inch squares. There are 30 blocks consisting of 49 of the squares plus double sashing all around, so it is a very large quilt. I origanally wanted it for our caravan, but now its finished and I like it on my bed. Even my DH agrees that it looks right there and brightens the room. I found a vintage sheet at an op shop for just $2.00 and I have used it on the back along with a panel of the 2 1/2 inch squares, sorry forgot to take a photo and my dear friend Dawn quilted it for me on her quilting machine as I could never had done it on my domestic machine.

At Xmas I gave my 3 daughters a flannel quilt as their gift and my SIL Richard asked where was his soft, cuddly quilt. I found another UFO in the cupboard that I had started at least 8 years ago and put aside as I didnt like it. I pulled it apart and remade it using the 16 patch blocks with solid blocks and left overs for the border. I didnt have enough fabric for the back so I sewed more squares and sewed them with the little bit of fabric I had left and was very pleased with how it turned out. Richard now has a two sided quilt and I am pleased with its rebirth. This is the back on first and below is the front.

The front has turned out quite nice and I am glad that it is finally finished. Richard will get it in November along with hes sons and daughters quilt. their birthdays are all within 7 days of each other so we can all celebrate together when we go on holiday at the beach.
Bye for now Jude

Dear Jane!!!!

Now this is not one of my UFOs; but I wanted to share it with all of you. It is a finish; just not the ones I am suppose to be finishing...lol.  I am working on orders; so have to the my 2 UFOs behind for now.  This is a quilt that a lady pieced; it took her 2 years to put it altogether...I hand quilted it for you this past month. It was one of the hardest quilts I have ever hand quilted..so many tiny pieces...seams!!!!
I delivered it to her today and she loved it...she has to scallop the edge now and bind it for a guild show in a couple of weeks.

So here it is......from the back..above..lol
from the side
from the end

Finish #10 - Polka Dot Girls

I have had my purple Polka Dot Girls Quilt finished for ages, but finally got around to having it quitled, so now its all done.  The design is by Bronwyn Hayes.  I do love her stitcheries and still have a few of her projects to go (maybe one day!).
So, its #10 finish for me.
The completed quilt (I didn't add any borders)

and some close ups:  (though the detail is hard to see)

Crow Wall Hanging

Hello fellow sewer/bloggers!

It's been months since I've posted on here. After being out of work for two years and three months, I started a job the end of April and I'm finally getting into a new routine.

So when I joined this blog, I posted that one of my goals was to complete a crow wall hanging from the pattern I purchased two years ago at a national quilt show in Williamsburg, VA. Now that the temperatures around here are more reasonable (even chilly today) I'm in the nesting frame of mind and want to make pretty things again.

So here is my wall hanging. I still haven't sewn the casing on the back so it's temporarly hung with tiny straight pins (hence the slight sagging).

The pattern had straight quilting on theirs but since I love leaves so much and my fabric had leaves in it, I decided to quilt it with falling leaves.

Sewing all the beads on took quite a bit of time, but I did it while watching my favorite BritComs on Saturday nights.

I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. I'm not sure if I'll complete my fall bird quilt, but sure will try. I've already started making Christmas gifts (actually completed and delivered one already).

Happy sewing!

Another Finish

Can you tell I have been on a Christmas/winter quilt kick lately? This is another UFO that had been sitting around for awhile and I decided to finish it. It is a prayer quilt. For those who do not know what a prayer quilt is, it is a quilt that I begin praying scriptures over for the new owner.

I never know who the owner will wind up being, but believe whoever receives this will be blessed by it.

It is a bit Wonky and that is why I love this so much! All the fabrics represent winter season or Christmas.

I love the rich colors in the backing fabric I picked out and as you can see, I did some basic quilting on this one, machine stitching straight across from top to bottom.

MY NEXT UFO COMPLETED

I finished sewing the binding on my next UFO last night and I am pleased with the result. This quilt was put together several years ago and I cant remember just what year it was. It is to be a gift for my DHs aunt who has moved to Adelaide to live and she can have a choice of this one or the next UFO I will be starting putting the binding on tonight, so maybe by the weekend she can have her new quilt. My next UFO has been quilted by Dawn from AS SWEET AS CINNAMON and I hope to get the binding done by the end of next week.

Sorry the photo is not the best, next time I will get DH to take the photo with his camera . Bye for now Jude from judesstuff.

A couple of finishes...

Here are a couple of quilts I've finished. Unfortunately there are still lots and lots more projects on the unfinished pile.
A Bunnyhill BOM called Le Jardin. Started in 2010. I have finally sewn on the binding.

Now if only I can get myself motivated to finish off some of my earlier projects, they date back as far as 1996.

PS
I've got a giveaway on, over at my blog The House on the Side of the Hill, to celebrate my first year of blogging and say thank you to all the lovely people who have become my blogging friends.
You can win a handmade gift each month for a year + a $25 gift voucher from Want It, Need It, Quilt

One finally finished.....

I have had this sitting on my shelf waiting to be done for quite some time and I finally got my act together and got it done.

It is Foundation Pieced and I loved doing it. I love how the points are so precise with FP and its all exact :)

Might do another one later on in the next year or two :)

It's a free pattern too so if you want to do one then go HERE and download the pattern.
Its called Earth, Wind and Fire.
I have shown it on my blog but its been a while since I posted in here so thought I would put it up in here too.

Winter Fun Placemats

I am on a winter kick or maybe just getting prepared for Christmas holiday, but today I completed 6 of these placemats and just love the way they came out.

They are just a perfect size for a dinner plate, cup or glass and a set of flatware.

The nice thing about these, is I am using up more of my older stash fabrics that I have had for awhile and that makes me very happy.

I also completed my daily chores for the day.

Dinner anyone?
