A little Finish

I had my Grandsons here this past week and I full intentions of having this little cloth book for them.

But needless to say I did not want to leave them to go sew up this book while they were here.

So I finished it yesterday and I'll just mail it along with some other things they were unable to fit into heir suitcases.

A Very Pretty Finish...

Yay me, I can cross a KART off my list! Yesterday I finished a very pretty bag, embellished with gorgeous goodies that were sent to me in a swap parcel. The pattern is from a magazine I have, & I chose the design so it would show off the yo-yos and buttons. What do you think?!

And good news. I have not created a single new KART at all so far this year!!

Apology

I apologise for that last post appearing here and not on my personal blog. I'm trying to blog from my iPad and I am not doing very well.
Kayly

Let's try that again

I have downloaded the blogger app for my iPad. It recognises my photos but I don't know where it is going to put hem.

I have finished EPPing the 13 rings I need for Sue Daley's Square Dance. They are now ready to appliqué onto the background. I have to do the 4 border strips still, but secret squirrel sewing has to take priority. It's a red work swap and is going to test my ability to do stem stitch.

I had forgotten that my eldest nephew on my side was having a big birthday. I started patchworking after all his previous significant birthdays. He got an IOU I'm afraid. I have been researching quick but manly quilts. I have a kit I bought from the Quilter's Corner which would fit the bill, pattern wise, but not size wise though - he's around 6ft 4in. I have picked up a bright batik jelly roll that will help me make it bigger.
Hubby's still updating my lap top. I think I am a PC person. I prefer the buttons. I don't know how to hyperlink on this.
Let's see what it does with the photos.
February is here already. Let's hope this is not another year that flies by too quickly.
Take care,
Kayly.

HOLEY GUACAMOLE…WHAT A START TO THE YEAR!!!!

Oh My Goodness…what can I say!!!….Wowza, you girls are

A-MAAAAAAAAY-ZING!!!

If you could only see me….I’m doing backflips, frontflips, doing it gangnam style and breakdancing all at the same time….well….in my head anyway!!!!

Why, you may well ask???

Can you believe a whopping 75 finishes for the month of January????!!!!   That’s right…..SEVENTY-FIVE……..three score and fifteen….wooohooooooooo!

Yes I know…I did give you extra time, because I was away…and this was an additional 16 items but still…..my jaw is dragging on the ground….literally!!!!!    When I forecast 500 finishes for the year….I really was thinking 12 full months but I think we’ll do that in about 7????

So….let’s see……a predicted 500 finishes less the 75 completed already…that leaves 425.  Given 11 months to go, thats about 39 finishes a month….I think we’ll do it, no problems….considering there are 45 of us so far…..one each a month will get us there, eeeeeasy!

Oh girls…..I’m speaking for Dawn and myself, we’re just like proud clucky little mother hens…..so proud of you all!!!!

And because I’m brimming with absolute joy…..I’m sending each and every one of you the first month’s block of the month pattern….just because!!!

But don’t expect it to be a regular thing….I’m caught up in the moment now….each month, you are going to have to have at least one finish of a UFO project you’ve started or have fully organised from before Dec 31 2012 to get the next block…or you miss out!

Remember, February’s a short month so get stitching and rip out your UFO’s (metaphorically!!!! )  and let’s see how many we can do this month!

February finish...

I made this scrappy quilt in 2008, had it quilted and then it sat in my cupboard. The binding was already made, so yesterday I decided to get it out and sew the binding on. Not hard......but it has taken this long. To tell the truth I have a few more quilts that just need the binding sewn on them, maybe I will get a couple more done this month!!!
Now it hangs on a ladder in my hallway.

2013 first finish

Finally finished something from last year's project list.  I started a special bag to be donated to Jody Anderson's call to support breast cancer surgery patients - see her website if you want more info and the pattern for the bag.http://www.quilts-n-bags.com/
The bag is used to carry/cover drainage tubes needed for up to 3 months after surgery, and is one way of caring for these men and women at a very difficult time in their lives.

I started mine with the usual good intentions, but my brain got in the way, as it refused to function on all cylinders when I read the instructions.  The project was put aside.  However, the pattern is actually easy to follow.   I was having a good day today, so finished a bag in jacaranda blue, with a strip of pretty floral fabric across the centre to individualise it.  Photo to follow.

More projects on the way - thanks to the ladies who made suggestions and comments about tackling my list.
