Vintage Dreams done

This is a project I've been meaning to finish for a long time. I saved and collected vintage sheets for a number of years hoping to make a summery quilt. I was asked to submit a project for an Altered Recycled Textile Exhibit at a local Arts Castle. I got it done JUST in time for the deadline early December. I didn't even have a chance to take a photo of it to post until today! It will be hanging until Jan, 17. I'll be anxious to have it back and on the bed in our guest room.

The majority of the blocks were Ohio Stars. I got tired of doing those towards the end and started switching things up, making Flying Geese among other blocks. The back is another vintage sheet. I can totally understand why quilters don't use polyester in quilting! It is a pain! I used lots of Magic Sizing and Mary Ellen's Best Press!

So that completes my old UFO finishes for the year. I actually finished close to 50 quilts, I just didn't get them all posted. 12 of them were wall hangings, but the rest were quilts.

Thanks for all the encouragement and embroidery blocks Wendy and Dawn. It's been a great year. Happy New Year to all!
