Hi everyone! This time I finished 5 spider table toppers. They are over a year old, probably closer to 2 years old.
Next is my mother's 2nd quilt. again, my Dad and I cut. Mom and I sewed. I did the binding. It is queen size. I call it the Huzzy Momma Quilt. She made it for their guest bedroom. all a jungle theme. So you won't get the wrong idea, my Mother is a wonderful decorator. I am just giving her a bad time! LOL....The quilt did turn out just beautiful. the leopard print isn't a flannel fabric but it is sooooo soft and does have some texture to it. Right now I am quilting shams to match the quilt. this was started last summer.
My Mom wants to do a scrappy quilt next. She remembers sleeping under a quilt when she was very young. just squares of fabric. so I have been cutting 3 1/2" squares. Anything goes. So that will be our summer project for this year.
so this makes 33 UFOs completed so far this year. I am feeling good!
hugs....

One more UFO!
hi everyone! last night while watching Vikings I finished the binding on my mom's quilt. last year she told me she wanted to learn how to quilt. Yeah!!! she told me the colors she wanted. And I thought some Kansas troubles fabric would be perfect for her. And in my stash I had quite a bit! LOL....
Anyway, we did buy a couple of fabrics to add to the quilt. We did buy the backing. I hardly ever have yardage for backings. I did have a friend quilt it for me. so all was good.
I did make her take out some stitching from time to time. She just didn't see the reasoning for an accurate 1/4" seam! LOL..... I was going to have her bind it. But Dad had some surgery last week and she has a lot on her plate, so a binding did I do!
The pattern is from a magazine and is a modified wedding ring. I love it and might make one for me. it's was very simple. She is very proud of herself and should be. Dad did a lot of cutting. I can't say I made it myself. it was a joint effort. But I do feel comfortable claiming as a UFO finished. It was started last march I believe! Go Mom!!!
thanks for looking, PS I think this is #27! wow!!!

one more time.......
Hi everyone! I am so sorry I did not post a picture the other day. Once I realized I hadn't, we were on our way to CA. So sorry...... so here you go.....
And this is why we went to CA.
Our 15 yr old granddaughter, was running for Miss Teen Acton. It was the first time anyone in our family had been in a pageant. in the picture is my daughter, Julia - Miss Teen Acton, my mother and I. The best part was she also was voted Miss Congeniality! We are now home! yeah!! my posterior is numb!
thanks for letting me brag and being patient with me about the picture. sorry about that.
hugs...

Another UFO done!
Hi everyone! hope you have great plans for the weekend! We are going to see our 16 yr old granddaughter run for Miss Teen Acton pageant! How exciting! cross your fingers.....
Anyway, this was a class sample for scalloped borders. I am no longer teaching this class so I finished it up. The embroidery is an Alex Anderson pattern. You can't see it, but it has some embroidery in the background. it says:

I did the embroidery, piecing, machine quilting and bias binding. I just love scalloped borders! it is 25" x 26" I used 1 2/3 yards of fabric. all from stash! yeah! I probably started it 2009 or 10.

Some more finshes!
Hi everyone! I have 3 more of my BOM for Redwork Group I have been in. June, July, and August. these were prepped in December. I have just Sep, Oct, Nov and Dec to finish and this big project will be FINISHED! Yeah!!!
June
July
and August!
I figured I used about 2 1/2 yards for all three. I did buy fabric for August. I just didn't have any beachy, watery fabric.
this makes #23, 24 and 25 UFOs finished for this year. Pretty soon I am going to run out of small things and will have to start on big things. I do have a few of those!
thanks!

I have been busy!
Hi everyone! I just got back from visiting a friend in Northern AZ. we had our own mini retreat! I have 3 more of my little wall hangings finished. March, April and May. they are from the book Red work with a Twist by Pat Sloan. I had all the months prepped and partially finished back in December. I facilitate a red work group at a local quilt shop. so I am trying to stay ahead of the game there. this is our project for the year. I also finished this carrot while up there to give to my Friend as a thank you. All in all, 4 1/2 yards from stash. 4 more UFOs bit the dust!
March, April and May.....

Here we go.......
Hi everyone! getting a late start on UFOs this month. My brother go married this month. sooooooo, at least the quilt for them was an UFO. I think I posted that one last month.
anyway, first off is a pillowcase. a happy birthday pillowcase. I have 5 children and 20 grands. my goals a couple of years ago was to make a birthday box for each of them. One box for each family. a lap quilt, and table runner, a pillowcase, and a banner. sigh.... bought the fabric, got almost everything cut out and ready to sew, then for whatever reason stopped.... sigh...... LOL... so 1st of 7 pillowcases done. I plan on sewing the rest of those babies this week. I have several opportunities to sew this week. the serger is out and ready to go. I am set!

The fabric was bought at Joann's several years ago. and was my inspiration.
Next is my monthly small wall hanging. I have all the embroideries ready to sew and most of the borders cut.
Love being able to change things out. it just makes me smile.
I figure I used about 1 2/3 yards stash. nothing bought! yeah!!!
thanks..... hugs....

More UFO's completed #8 and 9
Hi everyone! finished 2 more UFOs!!! on a roll and I am feeling good! LOL....
OK first UFO. This is a wallet that I teach a my local quilt shop. I have had this cut out since summer time I think. that and 4 others. The class was small this time so I thought I would sew along with the girls. so we all got our wallets finished. yeah!
I love this wallet. it has 15 slots for credit cards. 1 special place for your drivers license. and 5 large pockets, which one of them is a zippered pocket. and it's the perfect size!
Next is a wedding quilt for my brother and soon to be bride. Barbie found the idea on Pinterest. it's a label quilt. I tracked it and tracked the idea back to green fairy blog. I sewed 6 panels together. added 3 borders. she wanted it king size! This was started back in October.
I didn't want any quilting on the label. I had my friend Monica quilt it for me. she did a fantastic job! around each label, she quilted a frame. it's perfect. Barbie and Ronny love it. the wedding is coming up fast!
Hmmmmmm, what should I work on next?
