A Cheery Finish

Today I would like to share my latest finish. About 20 years ago long after my grandmother had passed away my grandfather sold his farm house to downsize into a smaller house. At the auction my sister purchased a big box of old fabric scraps and partially finished quilt blocks. She dug them out a while ago and asked me to use the old fabrics as well as some new fabrics to finish some quilts for her, myself and my mom. The fist quilt finished using fabrics and blocks from the box can be seen here.
For this quilt the nine patch blocks were already completed but a little crooked (my grandmother didn't have a rotary cutter). I trimmed all the nine patch blocks to 10 inch squared then added some 10 inch blocks that had a hint of wonkiness.

The quilt measures:Um... I'll update later lol
Pattern: Mine
Fabrics used: Timeless Treasures, Robert Kaufman found here, Henry Glass found here,              Moda Oh Deer! and my grandmas vintage squares.

Quilted by: Me with straight lines 1/4 inch apart.
I just love how bright and cheery it is! Here are a couple up close photos...

Thanks for stopping in!!

Belated Finishes

I just wanted to show you some of my latest projects. We have moved and I have neglected blogging... oops.. Anyway...

I am in love with this sock monkey baby quilt!! It measures 47 inches by 47 inches and was made of scraps.

Next up is my organic baby quilt.
A while back I received this awesome fabric line called Taili by Monaluna Fabrics and I have finally pulled it out to make something.
On a nice sunny Ohio day I lugged my machine outside and began sewing!

Measurements are 38.5 by 42 inches

Thanks for dropping by!!

Dianes Quilt

I would like to thank everyone who sent me blocks to get this quilt finished in a timely manner. I had asked the gals of Stash bee as well as Heal @ Do Good Stitches and they were more than willing to help.

My coworker Diane was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She has started the treatment course for this and is in good spirits. This quilt made her day! She recently started losing her hair and this was just the thing to keep her positive attitude going. I included the addresses of all the ladies who sent blocks along with any well wishes they sent. I know Diane will be sending everyone thank you cards because that's just the type of person she is :)

I quilted it using straight lines. I got the idea from this table runner.

Thanks to everyone who helped brighten Diane's day!!
