Bubble dress ~ Pumpkin inspired!

Oh! I am catching up on reading and seeing so many amazing finished projects here!

I'd love for you to read more about this pumpkin inspired bubble dress for our soon to be 6 month old grandbaby girl...if you get a chance, please do pop over and let me know that you did, by leaving a short comment :o)

I have so much fun sewing projects to do...and now able to get to some more of them, now that we are through with packing and moving after the sale of our home!

A September Finish # 15 ....

My quilt is done

Butterfly Garden - design by Leanne Beasley....

full of butterflies .....

and daisies....

and lovely words....

and sweet stitcheries....

looks perfect with spring growth .....

I used a wool/polyester blend - it gives the extra loft I wanted

you can see the quilting on the back - I did lots of stitch in the ditch around the applique - and some details in them... meandering over the rest and some fun quilting in some of the backstitched blocks

this picture is not so clear but I did a mini feather wreath and little feathers in the triangles

fits over the top of a queen bed  comfortably....

This quilt was my first needleturn work ..... each block was such a pleasure to make....

 I will miss doing it.... 

This was a UFO from last year... so it goes towards my Sew It's Finished item for September

# 15 sounds like I have done so well... I had a list of 30 at the beginning of the year... so half way through but I don't think the year is going to be long enough to finish them all

Righto, Gotto Go...... need to get out yet another UFO hiding away....

 

August finishes

I am a little late in posting my August finishes, but better late than never.

Firstly I completed my jelly roll sampler quilt made in the French general range of fabrics

Also, as I am hosting a cushion swap, I practised making some, as I needed them for my new out door setting - getting ready for summer.  Here are the two that I made last month.

Finish #3

I finally have another UFO finished!  It's amazing how long a quilt can sit in a bag waiting for binding!!

4th FINISH FOR THE YEAR

I know it's not many finishes for the year compared to others on here, but for me it's awesome to have even a few!

So... here is my latest finish:

ABOVE:  a single bed quilt for my Granddaughter Emily.  

This quilt took over two years to get done!  I should have finished it ages ago... but just kept putting it off in favour of other projects!  I kept thinking... well she ain't in a bed yet, so no hurry!  Well in a few more months she will be in a bed!  

So yaaa, it's done.

And I am on to the next one!

ADDED ON:  My little granddaughter Emily received her quilt on Father's Day while visiting us, and I did not expect her to be even interested in it... but I was wrong!  She loved it.

They have a little Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, so Emily loved the dog block.
It was lovely to see her enjoying her quilt.

Socks

Since I´m working on a big ufo, 

wich I didn´t manage to finish this month,

I can only precent my knitted socks.

Now where are the socks...gone.

I absolutely don´t know where they are,

wich mean I can´t show you a evidence photo,

I´m sorry!

About a year or two ago my big boy was really interested in knitting. My mum has always knitted and at about 4ys old I must have bugged my mum until she taught me. I had been knitting heaps until after the birth of son no. 1 twelve years ago, so when he wanted to learn I was very pleased:)
As with many growing kids that interest waned before he could complete the three cat shaped pyjama cases so I finally gave it a go! Under strict instructions to what colours I had to use to resemble middle DS' cat Tigger this is the final result. Two more to go, but I think these will be made from fabric instead ;-)
