Finish No. 3 from me

Another finish this year is also for a NewFO....it was a created when I decided to take part in one of my Local's end of year challenge.  The theme was "holiday" and I was inspired by a card sent to my hubby for his birthday. You can read more about it here and here on my blog along with more photos.

FINALLY!!

It'S Done!!!  My oldest WIP is now completed after a little over 3 years!  It's a Wonky Christmas Advent Calendar, which has had its top stitches ripped out 3 times, so this is quite a feat indeed for a project I thought would only take me a week.  Many times I had tried to come back to this project, but time and time again I would go away frustrated and throw it back on the shelf.  This lovely prize was completed the very last few days of November, but I haven't been able to reveal until today as I was waiting for my husband's sister and family to get their gift for Christmas early this year.

I also completed a popover dress to send to my friend's daughter along with a quilt for a coming female child. This one was also completed in technically November but had to remain a  surprise until the package arrived!

Well our whole world is covered in ice, so it's a good day to go snuggle under a quilt today!!

A finish to show - Part 2

I am back with another finish from the Christmas in July swap.  Yes, I know it is not a UFO but finishing a NewFO is better than leaving it to become a UFO......am I right?

Along with the red and white snowman runner, I made this cute little wall hanging.
I am not very good at "far away" photos, so how about some close-ups?

That better? I do like to see the details.

Yay.....some finishes to show (Part 1)

I don't think I have posted ONE finish on here yet for 2013. It has been a year filled with committments so only a couple of UFO's have been tackled. Not many UFO's but I have had a few finishes even if they were NewFO's

Let me start with my finish back in  July.  I completed a couple of items for a Christmas in July Swap and here is one of them
The original pattern was done in blues but I just fell in love with these red fabrics when I saw them and decided it had to be done in RED
The length of the table runner makes it hard to photograph so I will add a couple of close-ups for you to look at.
I should really have made two as this would have gone so well with my choice of Christmas colours this year
I will be back soon to show off other finishes for the Christmas in July Swap.

Crossroads

It’s a.most the end of another year and I finally finished Evelyn’s quilt for her crib.  I thought I had better get with it before she is too big for a crib.

This one is called crossroads and was a kit I bought from “A Scarlet Thread” a local quilt shop when they had their end of the year sale in 2012.
The colors were perfect for her room.
I put some Minky on the back.
Happy stitching,
Nancy R

Nice To have a Finish….

After my little hiccup last night I am pleased to have finished this little quilt and mark it off my UFO list……

Home for the Holidays-done!

Nothing like cutting things short! This quilt 'Home for the Holidays' was a free pattern from Anka's Treasures. Done in time for Christmas.

The quilt pattern is a panto with Trees.

I loved using up lots of older Christmas fabric on the backing. One of the fabrics is from 2001! Woohoo!

Hope everyone survived the Black Friday, well..those in the US. I did the online shopping and got pretty much all that I wanted. The stores are getting a little smarter. They don't have everything online..or the price is a little better in the stores. JoAnn Fabrics, for instance, had flannels on sale for $1.99 online OR $1.49/yard in the stores. Although there is a local JoAnns near me, it doesn't have a huge selection, so I would have had to drive 50 minutes to get to the big store. I figured that I would have saved $4.50 by going to the store for what I needed. So NOT worth it...getting up at 4:30 AM...driving 50 minutes there, battling people to get the fabric I wanted, standing in line to get it cut, standing in line to pay, driving 50 minutes home. The fuel alone would have cost me that! So I stayed home in my jammie's and shopped on line. Oh he games we play! LOL
