This quilt REALLY was done yesterday...Scout's honor! I had about 20" give or take, on the binding to hand sew down when we got a call that my MIL was taken by squad to the ER. She's 80 and a post polio victim, so does not get around very well. She had fallen, and hit her face on on something on the way to the floor. Fortunately, she did not break any bones. But had a nasty gash on her forehead that required 20 stitches and her whole face is tore up with little abrasions (we are thinking from the carpet tearing her fragile skin?). Anyway, we got home about 11:30 last night and I finished up the quilt, but was too tired to take photos and post it. So..does that count? :)

ABC quilt for Grandma Sue |
Anyway, this was made for a friend who has waited SO long to be a Grandma and she finally gets her wish! She's about 10 years older than me, yet I have 6 grandkids and 1 that is 11! So needless to say, she has been anxious. I dug out these blocks that I did a few years ago and never finished and added some pink sashing (yep, she's having a granddaughter) and a fun bright print for the border to finish it up.
Have a great week...loving this spring weather!
