Baby girl quilt

A couple years back I bought a box of squares and fabrics from another quilter on a quilting board I hang out on. Inside the box was this quilt top. My step-daughter is expecting a little girl in August so I quilted this up and sent it off to Connecticut. Quick and easy. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a nice picture. The pinks looked so washed out. They look like 30's prints so you can almost picture what it really looks like.

This is finish #5 for me. I've been slacking lately. We have 4 new babies due in the next few months so I have been making lots of bibs, burp rags, booties, etc.

Spooktacular Quilt finish

I received these blocks from a swap back in 2009. I put it together in October of 2009 and that was as far as I got.  This was before I knew how to sew sashing on evenly. I also didn't measure each block trusting that each swapper made their blocks 12.5". I know better now of course. No matter, it's for my bed and I love it!

I pieced the backing. I bought the green bats back in 2009 specifically for this quilt. I meandered quilted it with bright green thread and used a fun orange binding that I had left from some other projects. Of course it wasn't long enough so I added some dark blue left over binding to make it long enough. It's been on my bed for a couple days now and I am very happy with it. This is the first handmade quilt I have ever used. All my quilts have either been sold or given away. Finally one for me. So much different than those store bought ones.

This is my 4th finish.  Robin @  RsIslandCrafts .

Flying kites on a winding day

I started this kite sometime last year. It just needed the binding hand sewn to the back and the tail added. I finished it up while watching the Super Bowl on Sunday.  I used a Moda Bakeshop pattern.  The pattern makes a small kite perfect for a baby's room. I think the next time I will cut the squares larger for a bigger kite. Maybe add an initial or a name  to personalize it. The binding was a bit tricky because of the bottom point but it worked out in the end.

This is finish #3 for me.

I had some time this morning before my doctor's appointment so I decided to see what I could get accomplished. I made the binding and added it to these two panel quilts. I don't know why I always quit at the binding stage. Since I machine sew them on it only takes a few minutes. As usual I made more binding than I needed so the extra will go into my binding bin for another quilt down the road.

Hello everyone!!

Hey everyone, I'm Robin and I blog over at RsIslandCrafts. I decided this would be the year to finish all (or as close to all as I can get) UFOs this year. When I came across this blog while blog hopping I knew it would be a good way to keep motivated.

Today I went through and dragged out my UFOs and grabbed some new pics so I could list them on my blog. I thought I would have 20 maybe 25 projects that needed some work to make them finishes. NOPE, I had 46!!! Unbelievable! I will need to finish at least one project a week to get this list to zero. I'm hoping that if I keep the UFOs out in the open I won't forget about them. We'll see at the end of the year how well I did.
