Mum's Bag
Last year, after I sent over a bag I had made for her, Mum was out shopping with a friend and she saw the panel and some plain fabric for lining. So, not being a sewer herself, she sent it over for me to make into a bag for her. I cut it out and put it in to the 'to do' pile ... and yes it lay there (while I was busy with other things) until this month. Back to Sydney it has now gone.... all finished.

Baby girl quilt
A couple years back I bought a box of squares and fabrics from another quilter on a quilting board I hang out on. Inside the box was this quilt top. My step-daughter is expecting a little girl in August so I quilted this up and sent it off to Connecticut. Quick and easy. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a nice picture. The pinks looked so washed out. They look like 30's prints so you can almost picture what it really looks like.
This is finish #5 for me. I've been slacking lately. We have 4 new babies due in the next few months so I have been making lots of bibs, burp rags, booties, etc.

Finish Number Five!
After the reminder from Wendy I thought I better get my other finishes posted.
I finally finished the New Years Mystery quilt from 2009. I think it had been hanging in the closet long enough.
This quilt was designed by Ann from the FabricaholicsAnonymous Yahoo Group. Another one I can scratch off my list.

Finishes 4, 5 and 6!!!
FINALLY! I finished our RUFFLE quilts! I first saw this idea here and started collecting those beautiful vintage sheets for our throws. I was making one for both girls and one for myself so we could all sit and watch movies with our 'girly quilts'. My plan was to give these to my girls for Christmas in 2010 but I quit sewing on them because I hurt my back. I was so discouraged that I couldn't give these to my girls that I put them in a laundry basket and there they stayed. I had everything cut and ready to start sewing.
In my Year of FINISHED UFO's~ this one was one of high priority to me. I sewed ruffles and more ruffles and more ruffles! I broke needles because my ruffler was so busy, it would jiggle the alignment off and my needle would hit metal or the sheets were too dense and I didn't want to slow down! I had tension issues, thread breaking, sewer problems and many other 'life issues' come at me all at once while working on these for the past week--- but I did it! I finished our ruffle quilts! I am in love with each one all for different reasons! Sew-- here they are:
One VERY happy little girl!
and one very happy doggy!

Another UFO finished - Macintosh Rose
I finished sewing the binding on my Macintosh Rose wall-hanging last night so it is now ready for my Mum for Christmas. It isn't a surprise as she has seen the work in progress (it took over 18 months to complete...) but I know she likes it, started in February 2010 and finished in December 2011.
This is the second Macintosh wall-hanging I make her. I have used fabric that hand-dyed in the summer of 2006 for the focus fabric for both wall-hanging so they match and she will be able to hang the second one next to her first one.
I am on a roll as this is now my 5th finish. It feels so good to clear up my UFO that I have digged another one out that I am hoping to finish by the end of the year so I might be here soon! Watch this space.
In the meantime, I wish you all a very happy Christmas.

Here's my version of Kaaren Johnson's (of The Painted Quilt fame) Raggedy Friends that I began last year and finished about 3 weeks ago.

Ready for Market
Always ready to use whatever scraps, pants or fabric is being tossed out, I grabbed a pile of my husbands jeans awhile back he was going to toss and decided I would cut them up for a rag quilt.
Saturday evening however, after another of my flimsy recycled shopping bags ripped, I sat at my trusty machine and made myself a bag to take to the market.
I left all the pockets open so if I am making a quick trip, I can toss my cell phone and wallet in them. On the way home, I can place smaller items like gum, candy, etc. that might get smashed on the bottom.
It took about 15 minutes from start to finish and now I have received 3 offers for people that want one.
It is another UFO completed!

Finish #5
I finally finished my "It's Owl About Me" quilt. This has been sitting around for a while, but it was finally quilted and I got the binding on, prepared the pattern and it is now hanging in my local quilt shop, with my patterns for sale. I hope everyone likes it!!

I finished UFO 5
I work as a nurse in a hospital and we aren't alowed to wear our uniforms outside the hospital. So my colleague and I needed some big bags to put our workingshoes and uniform in. Some nice bags. But everytime something got in between. But last week I finally finshed them.

This one is mine.

Susans Sewing Space - 2 Finishes
Another two to get off the list!
Christmas Sampler - not finished in time for 2010 Christmas but at least its ready for this year. A Nancy Halverson design - in the book "Tidings" . I fell in love with this at the Brisbane Craft show in October last year.
Leanne Beasley's Stitchers Keeper - I just love this embroidery - it was a "Must have" as soon as I saw it.
The pattern included an iron on transfer - just love those things - so much better than tracing - and you can use a wider variety of fabrics. So I had to test the iron on before I did the main pattern - and made a little needle case out of the pratice bit. (That's it at the top saying "Stitchers Keeper"). I feel I also need a scissors holder with a single flower - maybe later!
One more is finished - but it will have to wait for another day.
(That's 5 finishes or me)

Sing Choir Of Angels
This is Sing, Choir Of Angels by Roz Leadbetter. I've loved her designs ever since the distant days of Chookshed Designs. This one's been floating around for a couple of years, so it was high time for it to be finished. I'm doing the quilter's happy dance, as it is finish number five. Thank goodness for school holidays! I have a coin purse tablecloth top lined up as my next project, as I want a change from all the fiddly raw edge applique bits of this one!
