September finishes - 13 & 14 for 2013

Two finishes for this month.  The first is a long term  UFo - a round robin I ran on the craft forum in 2007 I think.  I sewed the blocks to the embroidery then quilted it, will be used as a table topper for our dining table.  Finished last Friday but have been flat chat and this was my first chance to post in here.

 This felt bunting is a relatively new UFO - only from last year. was originally for fundraiser & just needed assembling.  Adult daughter will be taking this to her preschool as they love to have pretty things hanging around.

 

I am getting through my thirty plus UF's that I had at the beginning of the year and I have not started a project as yet that I have not completed....

June Finishes

Oh my, what a whirlwind life has been.

We are in the process of buying our 1st home and packing ready for the move.

So sewing has been a long way down the priority list.  Very much something I want to do, but just don't have the time to do.

None the less, I did finish some long overdue chair covers for the Special Ed unit at our school.

 They are definately brighter and more comfortable for the kids.

Finishing and Repurposing

This was a project from Sewing Club in 2010, using the Piping Hot Tool to trim our piping, then attaching the piping in a curve.  I had dyed the fabrics for this project and it needed to be finished and used.  I made it to store my inktense pencils and water soluble pastels. 

 

I dont have a "before" photo of the next one.  It is an older UFO, also a sewing club one.  We were to make a hanging storage "thing" - it could be used for toiletries when travelling, or sewing things  when going to a retreat.  I cant remember  how it was to be finished, but felt it wouldnt be a particularly useful item.  It had very thin pellon in, and was very "floppy".  So I cut mine up. 

There were 3 zips already sewn in, so I have cut it in a way to make use of them, and have ended up with 2 project wallets.  The plastic panel, and flower shapes were  part of the original project also.   The third section is not finished off yet, and I am not sure what I will end up doing with it - maybe just pulling it apart and starting again.  With the 2 I have done, I was able to add some cotton wadding and some quilting to them to add a bit of stability.
