Fairies and a Snowman

Back in September I completed my 4th 'Sew Its Finished' finish, when after about 6 years I completed this project for my daughters 10th birthday.  It was supposed to be a bolster cushion but eventually morphed into a covered 8" x 12" canvas.  The stitchery is from Natalie Birds Fairyland book.

My fifth finish is this Lizzie Kate 2010 Snowman that I sent as part of a Christmas exchange this year.  It's only a small finish, but I'm happy to count anything!!

I hope everyone is making great progress on their UFO's, I have another three that are very close and SHOULD be done by the end of the year........ good luck to everyone to get lots more done before the 31st!!

Happy stitching everyone......... Nicky x

Finish number 2 & 3

Well finally here is finish number two and three for me for 2012 (of the UFO variety that is). They have been done for a while, but I was MIA from blogland for a few months.....

Not sure if I should count this here, as it is not a 'finish-finish' but it was on my UFO list and I completed my work on it in February and returned it to Janis as part of the Stitching Round the Block that Helen Stubbings ran late in 2010.  My own block is still on my list to be finished up.

This pillow was started last year as a result of me losing a little wager with Chookyblue, and finally it has made it to her house.  It is called Necessities Sampler and it is a design by Little House Needleworks.

I have one more finish done too, but need to find a missing SD card to get some photos.

There have been some lovely finishes here lately, keep up the great work girls!!

Happy stitching.... Nicky

Just in the nick of time

Hello all, I am pleased to be joining in again this year with all you Sew It's Finished girls.  My efforts last year were not brilliant, but I was chuffed to see the bag I finished made it into the mosaic for the header/sidebar button!  I have updated my 2012 list on my blog.  You can find it here if you're interested, but sadly it doesn't look all that different from last year.

Today I decided if I was going to squeeze in a finish before the end of the month it would have to be an easy one, and it didn't come much easier than finishing this little Lavender pillow from a Country Threads magazine, which I stitched about 6 years ago.  For goodness sake, it only took about four minutes to stitch the opening closed!  I'm pretty sure this is one I mentioned last year as being one that wouldn't take much effort to finish and still I left it a whole year - what is wrong with me??

Anyway, I am enjoying seeing so many finishes from everyone, and I'm sure there will be lots more in 2012.

Good luck girls............ Nicky

Rosalie Quinlan Bag

A good friend asked me 18 months ago if I could make her this bag.   I immediately started joining the strips, and after getting a few in the wrong order, I threw it aside in disgust.  But, I dragged it out last week and got busy with my unpicker and have finished it up.
This is Rosalie Quinlan's Angel Pin Carry Bag(minus the Angel Pin) from Homespun No 21.  This is the third time I've made this bag and it's pretty simple to put together(once you get past the strips being joined in the wrong order!)   So that's Number Four finished for me.

Keep up the great work girls, we're not too far away from 200 finishes ................  Nicky

Angels Story Table Runner

Well here it is Finish #3 for me for this challenge, this is the table runner from An Angels Story by Anni Downs.  This wasn't on my original Sew Its Finished list, only because I couldn't find it back at the start of the year to add it to my list!  But now it's found and finally quilted and finished after lurking in a drawer for a couple of years.

There have been some lovely finishes here lately ladies, thanks for the inspiration ............. catch you later ...............

Finish # 2

Hi there, I'm very happy to share my second Sew It's Finished finish.  I finally got this little runner quilted and bound yesterday.  It is Skinny Verna made in the beautiful Martinque fabric by 3 Sisters.  I love this fabric, and am thrilled to have actually finished something with it.

I have a very long list of WIP's to tackle, but it still feels good to cross one off!

Thanks for looking.....happy stitching........Nicky

And sew I've finished one........

Finally, with the month nearly over I have my first Sew It's Finished finish.   I started it in 2008, and only had to sew on the dragonfly button, sew the final seam and stuff it.  I know - what is wrong with me - it took me all of about 20 minutes this morning.  So now, finally I can add one to the tally!

This is In My Garden Needleroll by Shepherds Bush. Isn't the little dragonfly a sweetie?  The verse says, "In my garden, gently grow, buzzing blossoms, row by row."

There's been some beautiful finishes here already - keep up the good work girls....... happy stitching ...........

EDITED TO ADD:  I have changed the font in this post as it seemed to come out very small and was unreadable to some.  Apologies, not sure what happened, but hopefully this is now fixed!  Thanks

The list is done.....

....... and it turns out I didn't have as many as I thought.  Only 30!  But I guess that making the list is the first step in dealing to a few of these projects that have been lingering for far too long.

I think the thing that holds me up is that quite a lot of these are pretty big projects, so I can spend a lot of time, and feel as though I'm achieving very little. lol

I won't put the whole list here - you probably don't have all day - but it is listed on a separate page at my blog Farm Girl Stitching

My goals for this month are to finish my current Stitching Round the Block piece, finish another A Gardeners Journal Block and to make up a Shepherds Bush needleroll that I stitched quite a while back.  Good luck to all my fellow procrastinators out there - lets hope this blog will send some motivation we're all looking for.

Here is a little peek at the Stitching Round the Block piece that I'm working on at the minute for Raewyn, who is also signed up for this challenge (Love to Stitch).

Thanks again to Dawn and Wendy for getting this up and running and for being so welcoming.

Happy stitching everyone........................ Nicky/Farm Girl Stitching
