Take two....

Well, I don't know about you, ladies but I didn't achieve my goals of UFO finishes for 2011, and after talking to Dawn, she didn't either so........

we've decided to keep our blog running this year to see how we go!    Let's just say last year was a warm up, a trial run, so to speak and this year we'll 'take two'!!!!

With that in mind, we will need to begin with a new blog button for 2012 won't we???

Here it is for you to copy and paste onto your sidebars with a link back to our SEW IT'S FINISHED blog for others to come and look at your amazing finishes, which is sure to inspire them to achieve what you lot have this past twelve months!

Remember, even ONE ufo finished is one less than you had before, so don't be hard on yourselves if you didn't reach your target.

I've started already, with one UFO that was begun in 2010 and has been sitting there, at the safety pin stage for most of last year, ready to be machine quilted.  I'm quite proud of myself as the quilting has begun and I figure it will be finished by next week if I keep plodding along!!!

We have another member to our blog too......welcome Kathleen from Rose Prairie Quilts .  I'm sure we'll be seeing a few finishes from her in  2012, along with all of us! *wink wink*

Motivation is a huge encouragement on our blog.....you ladies are fantastic at motivating each other so it got me thinking about a 'blog motto'.... Now I know this is pretty bad, but there are not too many words that rhyme with 'twelve' so, here goes......
Our blog motto should could be........

Let's delve, not shelve in two thousand and twelve!

....told ya so!!!!  Let me know what you think?!

Looking forward to seeing many more completed UFO's in twenty twelve...

Sew Many Hugs,

Love the motto. I have pledged to finish many UFOs this year. Have them organized in drawers for quilts and a basket smaller item next to the sewing table. Finish #1 is well under way.

My UFO's are still listed on my blog patiently waiting for my attention. I like the motto as I've been delving and found some smaller projects that also need completion.
Cheers,
Robyn

I'm more than happy to 'delve' instead of 'shelve' :)

I would love to be a part of UFO 2012. I have a list of some of my UFO' s on my blog, I am ashamed to say they are not all listed, it would be great to have support and seeing others finish would be great to be apart of.

Ahh Wendy and Dawn, I am soooo pleased you are continuing this blog. I was checking my list, and although I finished a number of UFOs from years past, I didnt achieve much on my priority list. Hopefully this year will see a few of them done.

That's a fun motto. I have been shelving too many projects lately. Time to finish them up!

Hi there - I'd love to join in this year - I was looking at my (draft) ufo page on my blog last night - I started my UFO list in January 2011 of projects from the years before and didn't manage to finish one item on that list and of course now I have items from last year to add as well - so thought some motivation might help :)

I had 10 UFOs at New Years and have started turning them into WIPs - three are finished now. Would love to be part of this to keep on going, even when my school holidays are over, so that by the end of the year few or none of these UFOs are left. How do I join? THANKS!!!

I would love to join....I have many unfinished projects to finish and maybe this will motivate me. I like you motto, I've been shelving too much lately.

Today I am going to compile my list of UFO's & WIP's and see if I can work out how to put it on my side bar. I also want to prioritsie and make a plan on how to get as many finished as I can. I thought I had around 19 projects but as I was cleaning up my room I kept finding more. It seems as though I am addicted to planning and cutting out projects but not sewing them. I have baggies and baggies of labelled projects waiting to go.

I am with you.....Love it....so let's delve!!

Yes, yes these UFOs.
I'm also from there and they work.

I have been reading your blog for the last year now & so impressed with what you get finished. I had decide this year I would not buy anything new until I finished what I have started. I have so many UFO I was only writing a list yesterday to see how I could get them finished...including my daughters wedding quilt( she got married last July) I would love to join your group.

Thanks for keeping this up for a while longer. I managed to finishe a couple of things but not all I had hoped.

We'll get there!

I love it, delve, not shelve. I refolded my fabric last week, a sinful amount..I won't live to get it all made up, but I promise, I will get what I've started finished this year..and quit buying fabric...yeah, yeah....

Accountability....This is a good idea. I used to post my UFO's each year to encourage me to work on them. I am always starting new projects without getting the old ones done....especially if they require hand quilting, or applique! I try to finish at least a couple each year. My orange quilt this past year was my happiest finish for the year. I just loved it when it was done....finally.
